Tu Voto, Tu Voz
Tu Voto, Tu Voz
¡TU VOTO, TU VOZ!
Taking la Catrina or La Garbancera back to its political roots.
Originally created by Artist José Guadalupe Posada around 1910 , la Catrina was constructed as a social and political commentary on the aristocrats of Mexico whom were obsessed with the high-society European aesthetics and culture.
By reducing his subjects to bare bones, Posada’s pieces aimed to encompass a sense of homogeneity among Mexico’s racial and social class divide— meaning that underneath we are all the same.
With the election is right around the corner it is imperative for you to go out and vote.
Vote like your life depends on it.
Vote like your family’s life depends on it.
Vote like your neighbor’s life depends on it.
Vote for those who do not have a voice in our elections, live’s depend on it.
Just go out and vote.
Cómo dijo Posada, “La muerte es democrática, ya que a fin de cuenta, güera, morena, rica o pobre, Toda la gente acaba siendo calavera.”
Tu Voto, Tu Voz
Your vote, your voice.
Make it count.
