Cultivando el Valle de Yakima
Cultivando el Valle de Yakima
“Cultivating the Yakima Valley”
Inspired by the arduous labor work conducted by Yakima’s agricultural workers, this this piece illustrates two women picking apples from an orchard in the lower valley.
These workers have always played a vital role in our country and now more than ever, eyes need to be opened, ears need to listen and their voices need to be heard- conversations need to get started about their safety and wellbeing.
This piece is part of the “Essential Workers,” series.
The design was sketched and carved by hand, then printed with traditional oil based printmaking ink onto 100% cotton, acid free paper. Each piece will be titled, signed and labeled as an Edition out of 21.
*This print is printed on various color sheets of paper and the apples are individually hand painted with gouache paint.
Each print is produced using a manual printing press, therefore, each print will be unique and may differ slightly from the pictured original. This is the beauty of linoleum block printing.
